Mission Statement
Due to entrenched social structures, human rights for various minority groups are relatively tenuous and more difficult to ensure than those of people with socioeconomic privilege.
This website serves to educate the public on the experiences of indigenous people, Afro-Brazilians, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and people living under the poverty line. Inevitably, there is cross-over between these groups as no one person is only one thing, but within each identifier there are common struggles and triumphs.
On each page we aim to provide a short history, a few key human rights violations and their impacts, the effect of recently elected President Bolsonaro, and links to resources for providing aid.
